A history of reading database system

The information entered into the database was extracted from book lists collected by the research team participating in the project. The close connection between the databases and the book lists led to the adoption of a structure convienent for studying the inventories from various aspects, and along these lines the database developed into a system of sub-databases. The database system is made up of the following parts:

is the database of the booklists

is the database containing the bibliographical descriptions of the books
database recording the particulars of the authors of the books described
database offering information about the possessors of the books described
database providing information relating to the possessors'educational and cultural background

database of the specialist literature of the subject, with special reference to the sources (the book listst), the library collections and the possessors of the books
